Sabastians Restaurant in Umkomaas has become a well known landmark over the years and is the most firmly established in the area.
Sue & Craig bought and took over on 1st April 2010 and immediately set about updating and amending menu's, the decor and more.

There has been an instant and very noticeable increase of clientele enjoying the great new ambiance and hospitality. The old menu consisted mainly of Seafood, Chicken and a few meat dishes. New additions to the menu are a selection of Curries, Pasta's, Desserts and more.

Besides the famous seafood dishes that continue to be enjoyed by our growing number of patrons, the Eisbein is fast becoming a firm favourite... and our ribs keep them coming back for more!! The new menu is quite pleasing... both in terms of the variety available and the value for money.


Umkomaas is predominantly a dive destination, with divers from all over the country and the rest of the world visiting on a regular basis, in order for them to dive "The Aliwal Shoal", which is rated as one of the top 10 dive destinations world wide. Sabastian's Restaurant is ideally situated in the centre of the dive activity.

For this reason, Sabastian's has kept the diving community in mind, which is extremely evident in their new menu.

Sabastian's has live music on certain weekends, provided by talented musicians. We have 2 TVs on the deck for all the major sporting events on DSTV and there is also a TV in the pub. Special occasions are also something that will take place regularly. Sabastians can cater for all types of functions and special occasions.
